 I am writing to express my deep appreciation to Dr. Estrade, Myrna, and all of the staff at Brazos Bend Animal Hospital for the excellent care that was recently provided to my pet Chihuahua, Honey. On August 27, 2020, Honey and I endured being in the eye wall of Hurricane Laura in our home in Newton, TX, and then the subsequent stifling heat and discomfort due to loss of power. Honey was rapidly becoming distressed and stressed and developed severe panting, then coughing and respiratory difficulty. On August 30, I brought Honey to my sister’s home in Richmond, TX and she arranged for Honey to be seen at Brazos Bend, the facility she uses for health care for her cat. She “highly recommended” Brazos Bend.

Honey was seen August 31 and received prompt and professional care immediately, was diagnosed with severe collapsing trachea, and treatment was begun right away. She greatly improved on the medication and treatment that was administered. She and I returned to our home in Newton on September 2 and she has responded very well to the medication (Theophylline) prescribed.

It was a very scary and stressful situation due to the hurricane, of course, but mainly seeing Honey deteriorating before my eyes. Your staff was so kind and understanding and I, again, want to express my deep gratitude for helping us in this most difficult time.


This was my first visit to Brazos Bend Animal Hospital. I was greeted with friendly smiles at the front desk. Audra, the vet tech, helped me understand their rules and how they do their procedures. She was friendly and caring. I was very pleased with how they handled the emergency procedure. They cared enough to follow up the next day after the procedure to see how my doggie was doing. I am scheduled for a second procedure.


During a routine dental cleaning, Dr. Rainer discovered a mass in my German shepherd’s soft palate. After discovering that it was oral melanoma, Dr. Rainer and the entire staff walked every step of our cancer journey. Every one showed the highest of professional standards while being gentle and loving. I cannot recommend Brazos Bend Animal Hospital highly enough. After eleven and one-half months, Tiberius’s journey ended with the same amount of loving care.


This was our first time for a visit. So many people in our area use this vet and came highly recommended.
My fur baby was worked in for a skin infection (not satisfied with our current vet). We were seen at the time we were asked to come. To be a work-in ,We were treated to a very thorough appointment. Dr. was super. Joanna the vet tech was awesome awesome. The front desk young ladies were so very nice. Even for a Saturday!
We were given her meds. Complete instructions on how to administer and rescheduled for our follow up. We were so impressed by our treatment. A big thank you!
